Noria is an international cooperation association, founded in Paris, 2005 by architects, engineers and international development workers. Our projects are supported by volunteers, as well as by funds contributed by individual donors and national and international organisations.

Noria’s founders began to develop light bridge projects with communities and local enterprises in Benin in 2002. We created Noria in 2005 in order to raise awareness of the needs for small infrastructure in difficult contexts and to mobilise ressources to address these needs.
From the beginning, Noria’s bridges have been designed to take into account available resources, environmental constraints and the principles of sustainable development.
